For My Fellow Type 1s

Hey all.

I started this blog to connect with other type 1s who have struggled with body image, weight, and issues related to fitness. I also wanted a place where I could vent about common misconceptions relating to type 1 diabetes. I'd like to spread awareness among people who do not have type 1, because often times we are misunderstood outside of the type 1 community.

I started joining various type 1 diabetes facebook groups and realized that many type 1s face common challenges when hitting the gym or trying to find a way to lose weight/ get in optimal shape. I wanted to share my weight loss journey with other type 1s so they realize that it IS possible to lose weight in a healthy manner. I've been through it all when it comes to the highs and lows (pun intended) of weight loss. I believe I have finally found a way to lose weight in a healthy manner, maintain it, and most importantly, I believe I have accepted my body for what it is and how it looks. I want other type 1s to know that it's possible to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle.

Please feel free to read my posts and ask questions or request topics of discussion. I will be posting photos, telling stories, and writing posts which illuminate current issues in the media relating to type 1 diabetes. I'd also like this to be a place where others can vent about all the shit us Type 1s have to deal with on a daily basis.
